Getting Started-Change the Ending Mission Month

Share

Tips to help you get started.  Remember your enthusiasm and passion is contagious.

  • Decide which Mission Month resources to incorporate into your Mission Month plan.
  • Introduce Mission Month by showing the Change the Ending Video to clubbers and their parents during council time.
  • Send a letter or email home to the parents of your clubbers to let them know all about Mission Month.  You want to be sure the parents of your clubbers know what is going on.
  • Cast a vision to your club by talking about John 4:34-38 and sharing stories and photos to show how God is working through Awana International to help further the Great Commission.
  • Decorate Awana rooms, church foyer, stairwells, and inside of restroom stall doors with colorful Mission Month posters.  Get your clubbers involved to make the posters.
  • Create a thermometer listing your club’s goal.  Hang the thermometer in a place where everyone can see.  Your clubbers will be excited as the thermometer raises as they get closer to reaching your goal.
  • Ask the Pastor of your church to send a letter to entire congregation explaining Mission Month and how they can be involved along with your Awana Club.
  • Build excitement for Missions Month in your club by publishing a calendar of next months events.  Include the calendar in your club’s email, newsletter and Facebook page.
  • Kick off the start of Change the Ending Mission month by hosting a party and inviting the parents of your clubbers.
  • Go online and register your goal.  We would love to pray for you and your church during the month.

The goal of Mission Month is to help Christians understand that we honor and obey God through our giving.  We encourage all Awana churches to be involved in some capacity. Help your clubbers understand that even a small investment of their time, talents, and possessions can make a huge impact in someone else’s life.
